On the way to Mississippi from Memphis.

Memphis, home of Elvis Presley (and Justin Timberlake), has been an eye-opening experience with soul music, rock n roll and the blues. I’m not a very musical person, albeit attaining a sixth grade piano certificate and getting incessant hits from trance-loving peers, so this trip is definitely something new. We walked along the famous Beales Street, visited Elvis’ house, went to the exact spot where Martin Luther Kings’ assassination occurred, went to the Stax Records, Sun Records; inadvertently infusing ourselves in music all day long. I’ve never really appreciated this type of music until I understood where it came from. Blues comes from hardship - the tribulations in the cotton fields and painful segregation of blacks and whites back in the day. It’s a form of music that commands you to drop all your worries and get lost in it.

Okay I’m getting dizzy from typing. Currently in the delta where the gulf of Mexico used to be. Oh life.

Finally in Boston. And not living out of a suitcase

LONDON DAY 2

I shouldn’t have let my mother brainwash me about my camera being too heavy to lug around, because London architecture is absolutely beautiful. The weather, people and especially the atmosphere are all collectively breath-taking. I wish I could take pictures of it all but for now, words should suffice.

So, Blee and I had a lovely brunch together and then walked around Soho. Hannah Koh has just arrived. Dinner tonight at some duck rice place and then girls night out. Woo!

Not looking forward to turning 21 at all.

How long will it take for all the broken pieces to be fixed and for everything to at least be  okay?
